Enter a URL and press Test speed to measure the page load performance.

Website speed is not just about user experience — it directly affects search engine rankings, conversion rates, and revenue. Google uses page speed as a ranking factor, and studies show that a one-second delay in page load time can reduce conversions by up to seven per cent. This tool gives you an instant browser-based analysis of how fast a page loads.

What this speed test measures

When you test a URL, the tool fetches the page and measures the total load time using the browser's Performance API. It counts the total number of HTTP requests (scripts, stylesheets, images, fonts and other resources) and sums up their sizes to calculate the total page weight in megabytes. Based on the load time, it assigns a grade: Fast (under 2 seconds), Average (2 to 4 seconds), or Slow (over 4 seconds).

Note that results depend on your own internet connection speed and geographic location. A test from Bahrain will be faster for sites hosted in the Middle East and slower for sites hosted in the Americas. For the most representative results, test from the region where your target audience is located.

How to improve your speed score

If your page tests as Slow or Average, there are several common fixes. Compress and resize images before uploading, enable browser caching, minify CSS and JavaScript, use a content delivery network (CDN), and make sure your hosting provider uses fast SSD storage and modern server software. BahrainServer hosting includes server-level caching, SSD storage, and global CDN options to keep your site fast regardless of where your visitors are.

Frequently asked questions

Under 2 seconds is good. Under 1 second is excellent. Above 3 seconds increases bounce rates significantly, and Google uses page speed as a ranking factor.

Common causes include large images, too many HTTP requests, slow server response time, unoptimised JavaScript, missing caching headers, and using shared hosting with limited resources.

Yes, but some sites block cross-origin requests (CORS), which prevents the tool from fetching them. In that case, try testing a different page on the same domain.
