Image compressor and WebP converter
Drop in an image, choose a maximum width and quality, and download a compressed WebP or JPEG. Your files never leave your computer — the compression happens in your browser.
Fill in the fields and press Calculate to see your result.
Oversized images are the single most common cause of slow websites. This tool fixes that without an account, an upload, or a watermark.
What width do you actually need?
A full-width hero rarely needs more than 1600px. In-content images are usually displayed at 800px or less. Thumbnails need 400px. Serving a 4000px photo into a 600px slot wastes most of the download.
Quality settings that work
For WebP, 80 to 85 is visually indistinguishable from the original for almost all photographic content while cutting file size dramatically. Below 70 you start to see artefacts in gradients and skin tones.
Frequently asked questions

WebP, in almost all cases. It is supported by every current browser and typically produces files 25-35% smaller than JPEG at equivalent quality.
