Uptime percentages are abstract until you convert them into money. 99% uptime sounds excellent and allows more than seven hours of downtime every month. This tool makes that concrete.

What the calculation includes

Three cost streams: lost transactional revenue, the value of leads that never arrive, and staff time blocked while systems are unavailable. It does not attempt to price reputational damage or customers who never return, so treat the output as conservative.

What the uptime numbers mean in practice

99.9% allows about 43 minutes of downtime a month. 99% allows more than 7 hours. 98% allows nearly 15. The gap between 99% and 99.9% is the difference between an annoyance and a genuine commercial problem.

Frequently asked questions

It is the normal standard for business hosting. What matters as much as the number is whether there is a stated remedy when it is missed.
