Broken link checker
Paste a list of URLs or enter a sitemap URL to check for broken links, redirects and HTTP errors. Get a detailed report with pass/fail status for every link.
Enter URLs or a sitemap URL and press Check Links to find broken links.
Broken links frustrate visitors, waste crawl budget and signal neglect to search engines. A single 404 on a key landing page can cost you a customer. This checker tests each URL and reports the HTTP status code so you can fix problems before they hurt your rankings.
Why link maintenance matters
Every time a search engine crawler or a visitor hits a 404, they lose confidence in your site. For e-commerce sites, a broken product page is lost revenue. For service businesses, a broken contact page is a lost lead. Search engines treat broken links as a sign of poor site management, which can lower your overall domain authority.
Common causes of broken links include: pages that were moved without a 301 redirect, external sites that restructured or shut down, typos in manually entered URLs, and expired domain names. Regular link audits catch these issues before they compound.
What we check
Each URL is tested with an HTTP HEAD request (or GET if HEAD is not supported). We record the status code, classify it as OK (200–399), redirected (300–399 with new location) or broken (400–599). Redirect chains are followed and the final destination is reported. The progress bar updates in real time as each link is checked.
Frequently asked questions
Pages are moved or deleted without a redirect, URLs are typed incorrectly, external sites restructure their content, or domain names expire.
Zero. Even a single broken link damages user trust and tells search engines that your site is poorly maintained.
No. This tool checks the URLs you provide. A full site crawl discovers every link on every page, which requires a dedicated crawler tool. Use this for targeted link checks.
